It has been a nice few weeks for my ego! I am now a Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS), specifically in configuring MOSS 2007. I decided that getting the MVP award was not guaranteed, so I needed a real qualification and passed the exam a few weeks ago. Details on these exams are here:
SPSFAQ010356 - What exams can I do to be certified in SharePoint?
Then, ironically, Microsoft gave me the MVP award for MOSS for 2008! This is an amazing honour and my sixth year receiving it, so I am very pleased.
I have also been selected to speak at TechEd IT Forum Barcelona in November, my session is:
OFF304 Become a SharePoint Guru: Best Practices for SharePoint Administrators.
This will be a breakout session on the Office System track, on Wednesday the 14th at 1545-1700. Hope to see you there.
I have also added the following FAQs:
941955 A Web Part that contains an ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 UpdatePanel control that uses the _doPostBack() function does not work when the URL of the hosting SharePoint Web site contains international characters
SPSFAQ0603137 - How can I avoid my databases having GUIDs in the name in SQL Server?
SPSFAQ0303174 - How can I customise the MOSS page title?
SPSFAQ010357 - Can I try out MOSS for free?
SPSFAQ010355 - Would I give up using File Shares and move to SharePoint?
Wow, I now have 1,500 FAQs on three versions of SharePoint!
[Update] I also added a link to Brad Saide's blog to my blogs page, I learned a lot about Kerberos and NLB with MOSS there!
