Hi all, I'm an independent consultant as you know, and if I want to expand my business, the normal path would be to take on more people. But I am against that because I don't want to become a people manager, with dependent employees. And I don't want to become someone else employee.

The problem is I can only sell my time by the hour, and there are only 160 hours or so in a month. So, my solution is to use the "Software as a Service" model and sell "Stephen as a Service". I'm calling it my SharePoint Mentoring Service.

This way I'm selling myself online, hire me by the month, it's cheaper than hiring me full time, but you've got me to call on for questions, solutions, and anything else I can do for you online. I'll also give each client a SharePoint site for tracking our relationship. This way I can take on more clients and still be my own boss and do the work myself. Think it's a good idea?
